Yup! RevUP crap rings!

Do you measure your oil waste? I had 4qts out at 3700 mi for the first 78k miles.... Then i had to add a quart at 2k miles for each oil change.... Then at 105k It had nothing on the dipstick after 1500 miles!!!

I never really check the oil between oil changes. I sort of just let the dash light tell me if im low. Also, i hate the dipstick. It hits into a million things before I finally get it out and past the intake!!!
I change the oil every 2500mi with Castrol Edge Titanium. Its prob just the RevUp. Although isn't that much oil consumption abnormal for a RevUp? I didn't know they were that bad. Don't mean to accuse you of bad maintenance or anything, but did you ever abuse the motor in a harsh way or miss couple of oil changes??

The only "abuse" it has received is being driven hard. I've used Mobil 1 and the OEM oil filter from the first oil change. I've had it since 5 miles. The only times I've gone over the 3700 miles were on long road trips but then changed the oil when I got home. I've attempted to drift it twice but I suck at drifting so it wasn't getting more than the usual "hard driving"

Yeah you should check out more info about the revUP. I've seen oil consumption issues at 20k miles - luckily they were replaced by dealer warranty. With mine, I read about the oil consumption issues when I was at about 50k miles. At the time it was only burning one quart per oil change. I realized it initially because the back of my car was filthy after 10 days of driving.

My oil light has only come on once --- I was on an off ramp heading to work a few months ago. That's when I realized it suddenly started consuming the oil even faster than before :-(

Sucks how these motors are great on dynos, but bad on consumption. Still a good motor though. I think the VQs are of the best Nissan has made. Enjoy that new VR. Try not to dissapoint rich guys with fast cars they no nothing about lol.
Keep us posted on the GTR.
