"With the bodywork inspired by the Pontiac G6 GXP Street edition coupe, the GXP.R is the next step in the evolution of a successful racing program that began with the purpose-built GTO.R. The GTO.R was retired after winning the 2006 GT championship; the new GXP.R is built on the same winning foundation as the GTO.R."

i figured the car was a repost but i wasnt sure of the picture...there are some people on here who live here and post up stuff before it goes public but it was the first i saw of it and thought i would share...i wanted to go to this race sooo bad but i had to work....definantly going to the petit lemans at road atlanta, it would be fun to get a huge group to go and have a show like all the other clubs do there
and that pic of the pontiac, i knew it was a g6, but it looks from the pictures that its pretty beefed up with the body paneling and fat tires...i really like it, wonder how it looks in person
Unfortunately, the G finish behind the pack in 61st place don't know if it went out due to mechanical problems or crash. Anyway, it was interesting to see that the car started 40th and was in 16th place by the second hour. Slipped back to 22nd and then sometime during the night fell out of the race. Not bad for 1st time racing the car with it's new power plant.
I was at Daytona this weekend for the 24hrs. I got about a dozen pics of the G that I can post up or email if anybody is interested--nothing that looks as good as any of the pics already posted, due to the fact that I have a small Canon compact digi camera. I was soooo stoked when I saw the G roll off the starting grid. Like some have already said, when it was not sitting in the garage, it was out there doing pretty well and holding its own against the GT3's. As for those Pontiac's, they both (the #06 and #07) both looked very strong out there. Anyway, if anybody has any specific questions...let me know...
