I think at wide-angle lens would have probably had a better effect, especially since its close range.

Oh, da mayor - the high pressure fuel pump has only effected 36 cars so far. The problem itself is limited to only one month of production, so not a huge deal.

Wide angle lenses tend to distort the lines of a car if you aren't careful. I have a Tokina 12-24 that I use sometimes.

Ya, I take all the pics of cars I detail with a 17mm lens, and started to notice in a lot of cases the car looked distorted, which was mostly fine, but sometimes it was not a desirable result. (example: http://gtaindetail.com/pics/335122806/d.jpg <--- the rear fender is not that long.
