Smile Tint done on my Lakeshore Slate!

Vince at Omega Tintwerks in Pleasanton, CA just tinted my Lakeshore Slate G35S a couple days ago. He did a great job and was a pleasure to deal with.

I went with 50% in the front sides, 35% in the rear sides and 20% in the rear windshield using Suntek Carbon tint. He also put 20% onto the sunroof, so I can leave my sunroof shade open all the time and not feel any heat on my head and arm. The carbon tint, like ceramics, has no interference with my electronics - cell phone, navigation, sat radio, radar detector.

CA DMV tint law allow only 70% in front sides and no limit in rear, but he'll put anything you want on the front window if you sign a waiver. 50% still has 99% UV protection and about 45% heat reduction, but is not so dark that a cop can't see the driver. If they can't see you, they're much more likely to pull you over just for the tint.

Looks great. You seem to live in a beautiful area with some nice rolling hills.

I am thinking about doing 35% all around on mine... not sure yet though.

Looks good, I am not big on differing tints on the sides/rear etc etc though. Dont you think the Lakeshore Slate is a much better looking color in person than pictures?!?!

Looks great! I had Vince do mine a couple weeks ago in the exact configuration as yours, although I went with Lumar. I went 50 on the fronts for the same reason.

I was visiting Vince last Friday and he mentioned a G coming in this week to work on. He must of been talking about yours.

Is that a silver MDX I see in the garage? If yes, we have similar tastes because I have a 2002 Silver Acura MDX and an 07 Lakeshore Slate G35X!!

Yes, he was talking about me. I asked if other G's were coming and he said I was the only one this week. I think I saw your pics here on this forum and that's where I got the idea for 50/35/20.

Yup. That's my wife's 2005 Billet Silver MDX. I know a few other folks with a G35 and an MDX as well. Both are great vehicles at a great price.

I live in the East Bay area of San Francisco. The hills are very beautiful around here, but it leads to many steep driveways, so I have to resist the urge to lower the suspension.

It's also an area of many earthquakes. Take a look at these threads about the quake centered in my town last week. Amazingly, nothing fell over in my home...

not a big fan of the staggered tint look but still looks much better with any tint.
