The placement actually works really well (other than being a bit of an eyesore). Its a wide angle cam so you can see from bumper to bumper (as in left to right) so you can see pretty much so anything.

The Rear Camera setup plus two front cameras, a button to turn the front cameras on and off, the front cameras only come on when the car is going low speeds.

Thanks for the link, I wondered what those little things were on top of the dash;
There are two off those on the dash, one on each side (left and right). They are for the alarm, right?
