:bowrofl:....ok you got me. 2006 g35 6mt coupe: Motordyne's "real" MREV2+5/16 spacer, Z-tube, Tokiko d-spec shocks, Z..s-tech, wicked tuning rear camber+toe adj, and Amuse Titan R1 extra (y-pipe, Mid-pipe, A-body).

Outside....all stock(front bumper, sides, spoiler, tails, projectors....already equipped)
I was nice enough to trade my 19's for set of 18's(no added cash).
All in all, just enough to "compliment" the car.
Thank you for the comments.

...and not custom, or "i havent seen any other g's with these rims?"

i mean ive seen some sick cars/rims/custom fab on here,.. i just think the thread has gone far off topic

ShanesG 08-11-2009 01:23 PM

^Wouldn't custom mean it's rare? lol

xx7sephiroth7xx 08-11-2009 01:31 PM

^ I was expecting to see either:
A.) Your new suspension
or
B.) Your new wheels

You have shown neither. You fail.

craftysince86 08-11-2009 01:47 PM

what qualifies as a rare part?

cause honestly i just see a bunch of really expensive parts... i would think a rare parts would be unattainable items even when you have monies to purchase. i mean the monetary value would have something to do with it, but for the most part everything i see can be purchased brand new any day of the week. just wondering... loving all these parts those, wish i had the cash.

ShanesG 08-11-2009 01:53 PM

everything i see can be purchased brand new any day of the week

But....people dont...therefore = rare lol

O HELLA OEM 08-11-2009 01:54 PM

^exactly

dofu 08-11-2009 02:24 PM

I have to agree that the true definition of a rare car part is a part that's highly sought after, but unattainable (like the Hebbi Bebbi). But we are talking custom cars... sought after custom mods like trimmed doors, full LED dash and guages can be rare too. But I would not consider parts nobody wants as something too rare because it's only rare because nobody wants it!

As for who posted what and which definition the part falls under, I don't know, and nor do I care. I just opened this thread to see pics of G35 parts, not all this talk dammit!

you go to skools to essersize??

so unpopular items are automatically made rare? hmmm... this is more along the lines of post your ballin *** parts. i'm not arguing that items in this thread aren't nice, just dont see them being rare, more along the lines of top dollar items.

post on!

No, I go to skools for my edimakation.

No, parts that nobody want are not rare, but people who have them tend to think they are. But oftentimes, the idea itself is rare since everybody still falls into a certain status quo and wants the same HKS or Stillen exhaust everybody else has (think a bit further outside the box).

And about the parts that cost a grip... anybody with money can have them, but you gotta think of it like a Ferrari F430 or other exotic cars... I don't care how many of which model they make, unless you're in LA Hollywood area or Miami(?), they're still pretty rare to see, no? Anybody with money can have one, but not everybody with money will buy one. Now, if you want to talk about what makes a car exotic, that's a different story with many different point of views too...

Day177017 08-11-2009 02:59 PM

I think we're getting into a linguistics argument here.

From dictionary.com:

rare
1  /rɛər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [rair] Show IPA
Use rare in a Sentence
–adjective, rar⋅er, rar⋅est.
1. coming or occurring far apart in time; unusual; [b]uncommon[b]: a rare disease; His visits are rare occasions.
2. thinly distributed over an area; few and widely separated: Lighthouses are rare on that part of the coast.
3. having the component parts not closely compacted together; not dense: rare gases; lightheaded from the rare mountain air.
4. unusually great: a rare display of courage.
5. unusually excellent; admirable; fine: She showed rare tact in inviting them.
IMO, both Craftysince86 and dofu are essentially arguing the same side of the coin.

For example, i have a UTR roof spoiler that i think is rare because *i don't think* they make them anymore.

I also have Gunmetal TE37's that are rare because they are uncommon... as in they're rare to see.

I dunno. I may be wrong, but this is just IMHO.

lol my whole point was not to argue. just question this threads definition of "rare"

rarity imo is based on availability not who has more monies

I reshaped and wrapped my steering wheel in leather and suede and did the same to a Porsche 996 shifter before thowing it on as well. I'll do the same to the e-brake and armrest when I update to an '03.5+ console this winter.

Satin black + clearance strip delete on 05 style headlights. Not sure if its too rare but people always seem to keep the clearance light and go with flat or gloss black.

No I don't, sorry. There is a guy on youtube with a few vids on stitching a steering wheel cover. You should try that.
