G35/GTO pics part 2. lowered the G
As much as I love G35's the GTO is hot........even with the cheap wheels. Painted black you can get away with it. Mainly, 400hp and torque for 35K is just baaad. Really baaad. Interior quality in the 2 about even. Styling about even although the G35 gets a slight advantage. I'd take the GTO on power by a nose.

Is yours manual or AT?
(no muffler) Very fuken loud and fast!!!!!!
To be honest that car is a very good investment as far as price and the stock horse power you get. Thinking of getting one at the end of the lease.

My G35 without the Borla or the Plenum Spacer - 14.3@99mph. That was with a stripped out trunk, tire pressure dropped to 19psi, and a 1/4 tank of gas. Race weight was around 3700.
My GTO bone stock - 13.33@106.55. The only mods I had at this point were HIDs. This was with no weight reduction, a full tank of gas, and a race weight of 4004 lbs. Tire pressure was around 24psi. I ran this about a month ago.
Remember, 04 6MTs came stock with Michelin Pilot Sport 245/45/18 on the rear. My GTO has the optional 18s with the stock Bridgestone 235/40/18. That's less width AND less sidewall in a car that is heavier and has more power.
G35 faster? Pshhhh. When was the last time a stock G35 ran a 13.33?
Do I miss the handling of my G35? Yes. Do I miss dual-zone climate control? You bet. Do I miss having a clutch that can take more than 10k miles of daily driving and about 30 passes since September? Hell yes. (My stock clutch is toast. Going to college 10 miles away from Englishtown means I'm there every weekend now.)
Do I regret my decision? Not a chance. I can make my car handle like a G on coils if I choose to spend that kind of money. Funny enough, the parts that it'll take for me to do that cost about the same as a set of KW-V3 coils for a G35/350Z (1800 bucks, give or take). That, plus the sway bars, camber kit, and assorted other odds and ends would bring the price up to a point where I could afford the Pedders Quick Ratio steering rack, giving me back that great steering feel and responsiveness too.
Stock vs. stock, the G35 handled yards better. However, modded with the same money? You can get damned near the same result.
Stupid 4000 lb pig indeed.
EDIT:Z71 is right. I don't need my car to drop panties. I'd rather do it on my own. I honestly am not a big fan of the shallow ***** attention the G35 got me. And god knows I love dropping the hammer. All of that made mine an easy decision.

And the GTO will be a classic in 10-20 yrs, because they aren't making anymore of this type of GTO. So get one now while you can. Planning on getting one next year.
