Nice job. You're pretty brave to have used a pressure washer in the engine. I can see way too much go wrong with electrical problems to have tried that.

You really don't have to be brave, it's really not a big deal at all. It's how detailers all over America clean really dirty engine bays.

Normally I just use my hose at home and if a persons engine bay is only mildly dirty that would be fine. However, in extreme situations pressure washing is the way to go. ONR is decent on cars but I don't know any other detailers that use it on engine bays. Defiantly wouldn't use ONR on a heavily soiled up engine, it's just not strong enough or made to effectively cut through oil or things of that nature. Again, if the engine was mildly dusty then I can maybe see using it but it's really not made for that kind of application but if it works go for it.
Oh I know you can't remove really heavy grim. That why I use a full strength Apc on those area and let it sit on those area for a little bit then I brush the grim and finally use hose with the on sprayer setting to remove the grime. I would say. I do use my pressure washer for tire wells and under the car.

Big difference. That engine bay looked like it needed some help. Awesome job.
