Thanks everyone! Yeah, I'm anxious to see what kind of power the build puts down and to actually drive it. Going with an NA build ended up being pretty pricey, but hopefully the power and reliability will be there when it's all tuned. The break in is killing me... I'm going to have to just start driving around at night after work to put some miles on it, otherwise it'll take months to rack up 1000 miles

I have a spare block, and am planning to build that one for FI... but that's not going to happen anytime soon.

 

....but you saved $7,000 on turbos I had originally planned an NA build but the price tag was large!! Now you need some Top Secret ITBs to cap it all off!!!


PS I should send you those sun visors, i forgot all about them. oops

 

I contacted TS for the ITBs they actually stopped making them long ago, the only example was on smokey's car. We almost took that one from him to build mine...lol Went with Jenvey instead.

Thats sad I was looking at them in 2007 it was ITB or TT I picked the latter. This would be the perfect car to see the TS ITBs on it would cap off a very impressive build list nicely.

I have about 240 miles on the new engine... going to try to put another 100 on it tonight, and should hopefully be at the 500 mile mark by this weekend so I can change the oil.

 

a few of us are talking about putting together a track day (drag) @ Famoso (Bakersfield) in May... that would be a good little road trip to get some miles on it...

 

Once I hit 1000 miles, I'll be getting it tuned... I'm hoping to make this happen within the next couple of weeks. If everything is cool by May, then maybe I'll go to the drags. I'm not a big fan of drag racing, I prefer road courses... but I guess it would be cool to see what the new engine does the 1/4 mile in

 

even if you don't race - it's a good way to get some miles on the engine and hang at a mini-meet...

 

Nah... I only go to the track if I'm gonna race, sitting and watching is torture
