Adobe Photoshop CS3 help!

Ok, I used to be very skilled with Adobe Photoshop a few years ago and have just recently started playing with it again. My issue that I keep running into is that I cannot save my images in JPEG format. I don't know if this is a common problem or if I need to DL a patch or something like that.

If anyone knows whats causing this please let me know.

Thanks
Chase

If the file has multiple layers it needs to be flattened first.

Also if the image is 16 bits/channel I don't think it can be saved as a Jpeg. What kind of file is it and where did you get it from?

When I try to choose JPEG in the drop down menu, its unavailable. I have to go to save it as a TIFF file, then I have the option to save it as a JPEG, but I cannot select it there either.

The image is flattened. Only one layer.

It is a DL'ed copy. But it seems to be the same as the real deal as far as I can tell.

I'm clueless really... All I can think of is that the DL'ed version I got doesnt have JPEG capabilities...? If thats even possiblle.

What other options do I have for formats that are useable for Internet purposes that won't totally destroy image quality other than JPEG?

Thanks
Chase
