looks great... i was going to buy the overlay but im just going to have it paited

 

any tips on how to install this.. i bought mine for my 37, and installation is like 40 bucks.. worth trieng myself or..

 

Definitely install it yourself. This was my first one and I think it came out great although it took me an hour and two beers.
1. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol
2. Spray bottle with dish washing liquid and water. Spray the side to be installed.
3. Remove the backing from the overlay, be careful that it doesn't curl and stick together. I removed half the backing and had it on the car before I took the other half off.
4. I worked from the middle of the bumper out and from the middle of the overlay up and down to push out the water. Use a decal applicator or license/credit card on the inside of a soft cloth.
5. I did use an exacto knife when I got to the outside edge to trim about 1/8"
6. The same outside edge layed on easier when I used the hair dryer on it.

Go ahead and do it yourself!

I just shredded my rear sidewall earlier. Need to figure out how to get a new tire or mount one of the Volks cuz I'm not coming to the IOCC on a donut!

LIke dishwasher fluid like what should i use i think i only have dawn which is thick lol doesnt spary.. what should i use? only do so apply half and then start from middle, and with the knife def is the toughest part isnt it? how did u cut it did u pull extra overlay upward or ...

Mix the dishwashing liquid and water in a spray bottle (you can find one in a dollar store if you don't have one). It's minimal dawn but enough that the overlay will slide on your bumper. I only applied half of the overlay to get it on the bumper. It was fitted loosely and then I removed the rest of the backing and form fitted it. The cutting isn't as bad as you think. When you see how little needs to be removed, you'll be able to use the bumper itself to help you cut.

 

werent u afraid of cutting ur bumper?

 

^No, use just enough pressure to get through the overlay. The overlay doesn't have much material that needs to be trimmed, Andy did a great job with the original cut.

 

thanks alot you have me contemplating on what to do lol i also have my roof and tails but im not touching them for a fact lol, valance doesnt look that hard at all i def think i can do it, especially with a little help

^there ya go. Start with the rear valence and take your time. Once you get a hand for it you'll be helping with the roof and tails. G/L and post up your install pics.
