cal,

how do you get your pictures to look so sharp? the car almost looks as if it's popping out right at ya. you know what i mean? did you have to do any post processing for that?

can my D40 even do that? lol........? it just looks so sharp and clear. is it because of the lens?

Thanks.

Quality glass and a good flash will certainly help. I shot these with a 70-200 2.8 IS & 50 1.4 for glass and a 580EX II for lighting.

Your D40 is most certainly capable of shots like these.

so you suggest getting an external flash for shots like these? I guess i gotta learn how to use the flash because the on-camera flash for the D40 always lights up the subject and it always looks all weird and washed out. I guess the subject just always looks overexposed. that's why i always seem to try and stay away using the flash because i don't quite understand how to use it. I just bump up the ISO....haha.

any tips?
