Painted my stock rims!

I painted my OEM 17" rims today. Originally my car came with 18" rims and I bought the 20" Sevas so I no longer needed the 18" with summer tires and sold it. I found a seller selling 17" OEM with winter tires that are 95% brand new but the only problem was that the 17" rims was chrome and it was badly chipping. The good part was that he gave it to me for a REALLY good deal.

The chrome was chipping so bad, it made my car look like crap. Even though they are winter tires/rims, I don't want to drive with crappy looking rims so I painted them graphite.

4 layers of primer
4 layers of graphite
3 layers of clear coat

And here are the results. To tell you the truth, painting over chipped chromed rims don't look that great but it still looks better than chipped chrome. I'm happy with it

Here's a pic of just one of the rims that are chipping. This one isn't as bad as the others.

Here are where the rims are getting set up with index cards around the rim to prevent spray paint onto the tires.

Here are the rims with a couple layers of primer. It looks good already!

Now for the graphite and clear coat.

It definitely looks better than chipped chrome!!

i sanded it with 100 grit but it was really hard to sand chrome.. i used about 4-5 layers of primer before hitting it with the graphite paint.
