My Little Pumpkin: Attempted pics with the DSLR

Tinkered with the camera yesterday afternoon, trying some difference things, changed the F-stop a bit.

Some came out pretty nice. None of these are edited at all. Straight off the camera.

Would anyone like to try and HDR 1 or 2 of these?? or do you have to take the pic some special way or somthing? Anyways, let me know what you think.

PS: leave my pumpkin alone. Thats what i have been calling it latly. <3 my pumpkin.

the lower the f-stop, the more DOF(Depth of field) you get..
ex. f/1.8 = more DOF
f/32 = less DOF

Try it out, it really helps if you know this so you could get a sense of what kind of pictures you want to produce

Ah, alright. Think you can pick out which ones with a lower f stop?

I just did it for lighting.

BTW if you wanna do HDR, you have to shoot in RAW format.

Or you can always do the same pic in three or more different exposures, but shooting in RAW is much easier.

Where's the pumpkin....?

Hmm, the pictures weren't bad but you need to look for better locations to
shoot. Search pictures by photographers like Calvin and a few others here
on Driver for better location ideas.

if u have the f-stop on 1.8 or 32.. the lighting will be the same if u get the right shutter speed.. ur camera should have a built-in light meter which tells u if ur picture will come out too light or too dark.. u just have to adjust it by turning the ****.. every camera has different form of light meter but on my canon XT, it shows -2...^...+2.. there should be a bar and u have to get the bar right in the middle to get the right exposure..

search for an exif viewer.

If you use Firefox as your web browser, there is an exif viewer add on that you can use.

you can use the exif viewer to viewer the settings that were used when you took the picture.
