And the disappearing hood trick is super simple. Take one shot with the hood open and other with it closed. Copy and paste the hood closed shot on top and use the eraser tool. I start at 50% opacity and work from there.

are those dust spots on the second to last pic?
1 and 2 look slightly overexposed to me... revealing too much undercarriage (should boost the blacks). it might just be my lcd though... i'm on a laptop now. 7 looks perfect though.

I tried a rocket blower, but that didn't do ****. I guess I forgot to clone the dust out in the picture.I like to keep detail in the tires, and that's how I adjust the blacks. Plus, black cars are tricky.

and yeah... i don't like detail in my tires... don't like being able to see hints of fender wall, undercarriage, etc.
I used to be like that, too.

^^^wheels look like they're floating

^^^invisible exhaust O_o
But generally, it's frowned upon. And I learned to like seeing detail in all those places. But it isn't for everyone.

Wow Calvin, It seems like a year ago you were researching info for the camera, and look at you now.......geeez, the pics you have been posting over the last couple months are unbelievable.
Your skills and experimentation with the DSLR have paid off big time. Your shots are comparable to a professional photo shoot. Great job!

Previously, I would set the camera on 2 second timer, have them get the car going (2 seconds to let the camera stabilize from initial camera shake), stop, start over. I did like 15 in seconds with a remote. BTW, I've never used a remote for rig shots before because my other remote broke...I just got a new one.

My Phottix remote "kinda" broke too. The antenna just slid out a few weeks ago. I really don't want to spend $150 on the Nikon one though. Which remote did you end up getting.
