Spent a little over 4 hours today getting the settings dialed in on my new Nikon D90. I had a little trouble yesterday playing with the ISO but I got that all figured out. Took 500+ photos and sifted through them all and got my favorites right here! Photography is such a time consuming hobby in its own, on top of taking all the pictures, there is the post processing that takes a lot of time as well But I did have lots of fun! injoi!

Looks like you are having a blast learning your camera. Do you have a CPL filter for your lens, that would definitely help in cutting down the reflections of the car. I would also suggest to stay in Matrix metering versus Spot Metering for now.
Keep practicing with shooting your girl man, she is very photogenic. Some of those black and whites are pretty sweet. You should pick up a nifty 50 (Nikkor 50 f/1.8). This lens is sharp and will give you some awesome bokeh (and its just over $100, best bang for you buck lens). Make sure and focus on her eyes, you want them to "pop" in the photo.

It may take a couple of weeks to get to you, but they are 100% legit and their prices are awesome.
What are you planning to shoot a fisheye with? You can get some pretty neat photos with that type of lens, I just don't think I'd use it very often. I'll be getting an UWA lens very soon
