Funny, nothing changes in Vietnam....doesn't much matter who's running
the country. Sure the scooters and vehicles are current but life goes on
just as it has for the last 75 years. Vacation in Nam I couldn't, to many
terrible memories....50K Americans died in this coutry....and for what?

Actually a lot of things have changed. I was just there in October, and after 13 years, I cannot recognize the country any more. If you remember correctly, Vietnam wasn't filled with scooters prior to 1995, in fact the road and everything was pretty much like modern Japan or China, with cars.

Vietnam is slowly making a migration toward western culture. The only hold back are their water and sewer system. Otherwise, everything other market is blooming (banking, auto industry, etc.)

I wouldn't go and generalize depends on these pics, nor blame the country as a whole (let's not get into politics). Though they have a lot to improve, the the system is definitely a lot better than what it was, even just 2-3 years ago.

Just my 2 cents.

I haven't been to Vietnam for about 8 years. Wish I could see for myself how much it changed.
Vietnam is a beautiful country, and the Top Gear episode was hilarious and makes me want to visit again.
Thanks for sharing the pics!
