Yes very nice technique, I plan to try that soon myself. The shot in my avatar looks kinda like I used this technique (fired at the passenger wheel) but it just happened to come out that way based on the lights that were present where I was shooting.

The shot I thought you possibly used off camera lighting was the second one, camera right.
