al & eds (formerly in la verne, now in azusa - they just moved on april 1 to a much much bigger location).

i shopped around a few audio shops. but with the economy as it is a lot of them aren't surviving. i know of at least 3 that have gone out of business recently. so their warranty isn't worth much is/when they're gone. al & eds is more likely to be around for a while, plus the owner of this particular AE lives 5 mins from me. cool guy. al & eds was only $200 more than the other shops i priced out, so it was worth the peace of mind that they would be around in a few years if anything ever went wrong. plus they were convenient. shop was 5 mins from my house and the owner gave me a lift. lastly, they'll return everything to stock for free when i want to part out.

Did you replace door speakers too? I think I remember you mentioning you wanted to do that as well.

Very nice and simple setup BTW; classy FTW!

yes, i did. focal a1's and ca1's. i almost didn't, but i am very glad that i did now that i got my car back. i'm sure i would have been miserable with the stock speakers.

the other nice thing is that al & eds didn't try to sell me anything. i told them what i wanted and they gave it to me. i opted for focal's bottom end speakers (which are more than enough for me, i've heard their high end stuff but i'm just not that picky), and they didn't try to sell me on the more expensive "better" stuff.

next and last will be a AVH-P4100DVD.

Nice, Calvin. Must sound way better than stock.

I want to get some better SQ in my G, but I definitely don't want to go so far as to take out my spare...

Maybe a 4080 box somewhere in the future...
^ Did you consider that at all?

Yah, but the stealth install was only a couple hundred more than a 4080 box.

I could have gone with a driver & passenger side 4080 box, but that would have cost more than this stealth install. And I would have to mount the amps on the back seat or something, which I don't like. And the 4080 boxes just take up too much room. My rig barely fits perfectly into the driver side corner of my trunk, where the 4080 box would go.

AHHH! you missed it! there was a 200 instant rebate on all F-series Pioneer units betw. Jan.3 and March 31. You could have gotten the F700BT for like $650 (still currently @ crutchfield for this price, including free shipping!), then you'd have navi also if you don't already have it...

Clean. How much trunk space did it eat up?

How do you feel about riding around without a spare? Do you already have factory nav or no?

if i ever got a flat up front, then i wouldn't be able to get the spider jack under my car, anyway. in fact, i can't get it under there with the tires inflated.

if my rears ever go out, then i still have AAA.

no factory nav. stock non-bose HU at the moment.
