I noticed that as well. Wheels look better with a sick set of brakes peaking out. Give up a little lip to frame some bad a$$ brakes.

Yea, this wheel is becoming the new GTS. Soon, everyone and their grandmother will have them and then people will start passing them around like a *****. Awesome!

Oh definetly, its a gorgeous wheel and I was just making a reference to the gts in terms of popularity and what it will become(a classic). Honestly, I don't care how many people have the same wheel, I will still sport them....a good looking wheel will be a good looking wheel no matter what. I mean, you seen people sports ugly/obnoxious wheel just to be different....now I have a problem with that!

Not sure about the step-up lip being a stronger design then the reverse lip. Can someone confirm this?

 

rolled step-lip is not strong as reverse. However, the step-lip from the normal side, with the mini curled lip at the end is stronger. Regardless, depends on the manufacturer and alu grade. Work lips are supposedly 30% stronger than most other competitors.

I havent had any issues personally, even with it exposed and driving thru numerous potholes.
