Hmmm 1-2 months… looks like CZP will be the first to release 2-piece.

I don’t understand why Z-1’s are only 2.6 lbs lighter than OEM though... the OEM rotors are 30 lbs – RB and CZP (and mention of StopTech) versions are stated to be at least 10 lbs lighter… thanks for the heads-up though

They're planning to make 2pc rear rotors after they get the front done.

hmmm... I understood CZP and StopTech to say 2-piece rear cant be done (for the first gen G)... I think even RB gave up on 2-piece...

I think its a matter of how much R&D has to be done... most shops probably don't find it worth the headaches.

But hey, I'm not complaining if Z1 thinks otherwise

I think a couple have already tried and determined it couldn’t be done because of parking brake shoe?...

The thread linked a few posts above didn’t say anything about Z-1s rear 2-piece... is there mention somewhere else? I wonder what they plan to do that others couldn’t?

The piece rotors were implied. Maybe we just misunderstood.

I've seen countless rear two piece rotors for other vehicles. I don't see how different the G/Z could be. I'm sure its just a lot of work. If anything, I feel that liability and safety is their major concern rather than just not being possible.

Because the Akebono calipers are WAY bigger than the first gen Gs were designed for... the rotors must be way bigger as well to clear the calipers... for this reason, it hasn’t been possible for anyone to accomplish 2-piece (due to clearance from the parking brake)... this is the way I understand it anyway.

if something doesn't fit, it just doesn't fit...

I'm not a rotor designer so I have no way to know for sure... but from what has been said, they cant be made to fit.
