dual trunk led boards

i didn't like having just one led board in the middle. i wanted one board for each sub. so i spliced some wires, tucked them behind the trunk liner, and bam.

the right side looks brighter because it was pointing down. i fixed that after i took the pics.

^^^you have to duck down pretty low to notice that the center dome is empty.

i also replaced the license plate lights with two led boards. some of you may argue that you don't want the plates lit up well. doesn't really matter because if someone wants to read your lights he's going to shine his headlights at you anyway lol

i've gone through a LOT of LEDs in my short time. every time prior to these i've been left wanting more. whether it was brightness or whiter light, i never got it until i picked these up. you can buy them from henry at statik.

definitely. here is a comparison of the halo led (left) vs vled (right). the halo is a true (pure) white and much brighter.

i'm using the 6 led boards in every the domes, doors, trunk, and license plate lights. i spliced some wires and fit two boards in my trunk, one for each sub. i didn't like the way one light looked in the center.

This thread inspired me to go out and buy some from Henry. Great guy to do business with.

One thing i didn't like about the domes is that i couldn't find a good place to mount them to point straight down and it didn't feel secure enough if i had just kinda left them half sticking to part of the plastics. Instead i used a 4x4 cube lego and used additional 3M tape to stick it into the light and mounted the 6 LED board on the brick. Now each side points straight down and is nicely centered inside the dome. Worked out great.

Calvin already asked for pics, so i'll get those up later.

Here are the pics of how i incorporated the use of LEGO for the LED's
(please excuse my lack of photography skills. I'm not Calvin )

The trunk - I used a LEGO Brick here too, but it was impossible to get a shot of it. If you look at the trunk dome, there's an area right in front of the dome that's bare metal. I just stuck the brick there and put the LED on it so that it clears the carpeted area:

You can see how i stuck the LEGO brick in to prop up the LED panel:

LED Boards are centered inside the housing. It makes a HUGE difference when the dome lenses are back on and the lights are on:

Another shot:

The LEGO piece i used:

^^^yah i looked up your trunk last week and thought about doing the same, but decided to go this route. nice trunk setup tho.

i'm going to open up my license plate light housings and do the same with bigger boards. $300 from clearcorners is just too much for what it is. the boards cost like $20 each at most. gonna open them up this weekend
