Black grills

Ace35x and I painted our grills today. I did full flat black and he did midnight flat black.

Pics aren't the best but it gets the point across. The clear coat left very small texture on the paint, anyone know how to fix that?

EDIT: The sedan grill had a shadow on it when I took the pic so it is a little hard to see how it really looks, but you should get the idea.

IMO the Sedan grill would look much better if the rest of the grill (minus the emblem) was painted black.

imo it should be all midnight flat black, leaving no chrome.

^ Midnight means leaving the top and bottom line chrome.

x2.

I was actually considering what was done on the sedan, but I figured it would not look good to my preference since there are only 4 bars...if there were say 6, or if it was like the 2nd gen's it would probably look better.

Definitely do the grill!

I want my headlights painted black but I don't know how to do them and I don't want to pay $200+ dollars to get them done.

the sedan should have done the full grille black. otherwise, nice work man.

To get rid of that texture, get a very very fine grit sandpaper (1500) and sand it once more to get rid of any imperfections/bumps and put one more last coat of clear. It'll smooth everything out

rubbing compound should work to smooth out the texture

nice work. not sure i like the midnight. have you tried lightly wet-sanding the clearcoat to get it smooth? might take a few coats to get it even.
