BUMPing this up because I really think this would look nice.

I've read through this topic, and I know it seems impossible for the G35 Coupe because if you mount a window visor on the door, the window will SMACK into it when you open the door, ending in lolfail. But looking at some S14's like the one above, I think it might be possible to make a smaller window visor for the coupes.

Notice how the window visor above doesn't angle down as much as other window visors. It also seems to mounted above the window, on the actual pillar. So when the door is swung open, the window misses the visor itself, barely. Those coupe owners will know that when you open the door, the window moves down a bit to clear the door. We can use this allowance of space to angle the visor downwards a bit. Although it won't be as functional as real visors that offer more coverage, it will give us the look that people are going for. That mini window visor + roof spoiler in my opinion will look sexy if done right.

Anybody else think this is a possibility?

This thread got me thinking!

The hate not being able to crack the window open in the rain...yet I rarely drive my G in the rain.

If the visors are not attached to the door/window, and they are attached to the frame of the car itself, how exactly would the door close with the window fully up? Wouldn't the window hit the window visor before the door could close (or open) ?

I addressed that issue in my previous post. I don't know if it will work, but cars with frameless windows such as the mustang and s14 have done it.

If you look at the G35 coupe window/door. When you open the door, the window noticeably rolls down in order to clear the top of the door frame. As you shut the door, the window rolls back up into its original position to create that "seal".

What I'm thinking is that this "window roll down height" will allow the use of a mini window visor. One that does not angle downwards as much as your average sedan visor, but more like the visors seen on the S14 posted above. By having a shortened visor, the window will miss hitting the window visor, even if just by thousands of an inch. =P

About the rain stuff, honestly I don't care much about the rain. I don't crack the window at all. =P I'm just doing it for looks, hahah. But its not a reality, yet..

I had some on my old IS300 and it cost around $130 for the set.
It was a OEM part from Japan with a ALTEZZA logo imprinted on them.
Some of the nicest visors I've ever seen

I don't know how much I will be willing to pay right now. I'll have to see how it looks, and the quality to be able to determine how much I want to drop on it. But if somebody does decide to make some, I will likely buy it if it looks good and has a decent price.

Anyone try to fabricate ones yet, Theses visors on my coupe have been in my dreams. Ever since the first time trying to smoke a cig in the rain and getting a tremendous amount of water inside the vehicle from taking turns, and just turning on the wiper blades.. any thoughts idea's or custom made ones would be great to hear about!
