Need some advice/input about my new trunk issue
Ok, I recently bought a new fiberglass trunk from a sponsor on this forum and I had him paint it OB for me at his local bodyshop (to save some downtime). I paid 300 for the paint job which I thought was a little on the high side but I assumed it would be pretty much perfect so I went for it.
Well, this is what I got for 300. Did I over pay and would it be reasonable to ask the sponsor for some compensation? Dont get me wrong, I love the trunk but I just sort of expected more when I paid over 8XX total for this.
The pix arent too great and I tried to point to spots on the edge of the trunk where it wasn't completely finished (white spots bc the primer was white). Also, the back of the trunk has some white patches where it wasnt completely sprayed down.

At this pt I'm not here to discredit anyone. If I take far away pix of the trunk everyone would no the type of trunk and sponsor.
I just want to know your input on what I should do. I actually tried pming the sponsor but had no luck.

This is the chance you take when buying something painted and then having it shipped. You can't see it until you get it. The one thing I noticed right away is the underside with big taped patches with no paint. Its not the sponsors fault, but the lazy painters / prep. I am honestly not sure why sponsor offer this.
Turn you Digicam to Macro mode when taking close up pics.
We'd need better pics to see how "worse" is it.
But if I think what it is, those white spots aren't because it's NOT finished but because the trunk got "nicked" during shipping or packaging (like rock chips)

so the white spots on the inside will get bigger?
that unacceptable....no matter who the sponsor is. Even though I'm reusing my trunk liner, the shop I used paitned the entire inner skeleon area. The chips may be from shipping, but thats the risk you take getting painted parts (likely not completely cured) shipped. I'd point out the spotty paintjob on the underside, and get credited for it. If they were a stadn up sponsor they should take care of the lazy paint job they recommended.
I'd just use a sharpie and you wouldn't have even noticed.
Are those little dots see able when the trunk is closed? Can you take a pic of the trunk installed on the car? Personally too me if its not visible when the trunk is closed, then who cares. Another personal experience I have, almost everything I ever got painted besides bumpers always came back to me with some kind of dot on it somewhere where it's not visible, assuming the painter knows this I never really bothered, no one ever caught it but myself. If you want to blame someone, I'd say to talk to the painter, not the sponsor.
As for the inside of the trunk that's white, you can just put the trunk liner back on and they can't even tell at all, assuming this is why it's painted like that, knowing you'd put back on your lining.

I tried asking the sponsor to contact the painter due to the fact that they know them better but they aren't doing much once their wallets are nice and fat.
I was told Ill get back to u
