E30 Track Build

So 2 weeks ago, I picked up a 1987 325e for a track car. For my purposes, it's in good/great condition. There's some rust spots but for $500, it's hard to complain. Otherwise, everything's good, clean title, etc. It'll be used at the track 95% of the time. I'm hoping to have it completed within 3 years, but it could very well be sooner or later. Main parts of the build will include a LS1 swap, roll cage, widebody, and 5-lug swap.

Right now, I have most of the interior stripped and some body work done. I made a website to keep track of the build, the link is www.thecarthatcould.ca. There's some individual updates on there, as well as descriptions. That'll be updated much more frequently than this thread, so check out the site if you want more updates

Also, if you guy's dont care about this, feel free to say so, so that I don't waste my time updating this

Anyways, here's some of the pictures I've taken throughout the build so far.

always good to see a nice build in the works, when you get going with it more send your page to build-threads, it might get you a spot light...they're suckers for E30s and LS-X swaps.

Little suggestion on your website...

Instead of putting Day 1, Day 2, Day 3,... etc. Why don't you put the date? Like June 12th, 2010. I mean... I don't think you'd be able to work on the car EVERYDAY for 3 years you know?

Very good point. But I enjoy threads like this. I give props to anyone who can transform a car in its current condition (bad/good) into a track beast. Best of luck.

Thanks guys, I'll try and get some new pics soon I'll probably get the tar off next which means a boring update. I'll try and find something cool to throw in though

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about doing it that way. Some of the days I didn't do any work, I just put them in there to keep track of it. I'll probably change it to dates and just have the day count within the update. Thanks for the suggestion

Depends what near future is Once it's finished, I'll definitely bring it to a meet sometime. Until then, my garage is its home haha.
