Yeah I'm not trying to bash anyone's decision in regards to what mods they choose to get. Their money, their choice.

I was just trying to find to logic/reasoning behind it. I don't see how a brand like this or Alliance even comes close to matching the reputation and prestige [and performance/reliability] of, say, Stoptech.

They do look more flashy. I would just imagine a new company without an established reputation would have cheaper prices.

^^ Wasn't accusing you, sir. Just pointing something out, I guess.

But they do look flashy... so again, maybe its just the prestige of owning such an expensive BBK.

Every quote I got for new stoptech brakes in similar specs to my bbk were upwards of $4k JUST for the front lol. Before buying my Alliance bbk, I looked at Stoptech, Wilwood, Project Mu, etc., and there was just no way I was going to spend $8k+ on a bbk when I don't even track my car or will really even need all that stopping force.

Now, I am in no way bashing Stoptech. I'm well aware of their extensive years of high quality and performance. If I had that much money to blow just on brakes, I'd be rocking them instead, lol.

It really just boils down to what you intend on using your bbk for. I can't speak for the OP, but I purchased my BBK purely for looks. Any added performance from them was a bonus for me. Although this bbk isn't as prestigious as Stoptech or Wilwood, if you do some research on them (as I've done with every part I've bought), you'll find that these actually perform very well in daily, and track usage.

I don't know who you got those quotes from, but about 4 out of the 5 vendors that quoted me for the ST60/ST45 with 14" rotors all around were under 4k OTD (complete kit).

Never knew the Stoptech kit was that cheap! If that's the case, I'd much rather go with Stoptech than Futura. However, isn't this the same thing as SPC/Ichiba? ****, if I had the choice I would go with the "Phat Boy" BBK especially since it doesn't have that ****ing name stamped on the calipers.

My apologies, I was mixing Stoptech in with Project Mu, Endless, AP Racing kits, which are super expensive.

I'm talking about 8/6pot, 15"/14" rotor kits, not 6/4. And yes, I know more pistons does not equal better performance. But as I've said before, these are mostly for appearance.

I think this is relevant in this post as well..

hmmmm..
Futura:
8pot front/6pot rear: $4250
6pot front/4pot rear: $3850

Stoptech ST-60 front + ST-40 rear kit: $5500 avg street price
Rotora Street Challenge 6 front, 4 rear kit: $5090 avg street price
Brembo Gran Turismo front and rear kit: $7190 avg street price

(I personally didn't assimilate this research, so I don't know how many sites were looked at to accumulate this info, this was just part of the info used to make my decision on if the price was decent in comparison w/ other known brands....)

I know some of you said you could get the stoptech for less, but for what my intents and purposes were (primarily aesthetic to go w/ my theme for shows, 2ndly increased stopping power) this matched my goals perfectly. I don't believe you can get the stoptechs in custom colors w/out paying for more powdercoating.. These came exactly the way I wanted them the first time..

I really had my heart set on the color, that's what sold me on these brakes, and this was a vendor that allowed me to do that w/out foresaking quality, however subjective some of you might think that is.. They are really well built in my eyes and perform LEAGUES above my OEM setup, so I'm happy..

I don't plan on ever tracking the car.. again "plan".. so I think that using my car for long term tests won't necessarily be fair to judge how well these last or perform in harsh conditions.. They'll definitely last on my ride w/ the limited amount of driving I do now.. (I work from home, and just drive to the gym and back daily)

Well put, good sir. Because at the end of the day, who is driving your car? You, right? So long as you like it, and hell, I like them too, then that is all that matters. Maybe not for the price tag, but hey... its your money!

And of course, no one ever plans on "tracking" or "showing" but with this forum... those plans can always go out the door.

Someone needs to ban me from Driver for a week or something, this fkn place makes me wanna spend money.

When are your new rollers coming in? I remember talking to you on AIM awhile back about you getting those. They look awesome, the design is similar to the Gnosis GS4 which is probably why I like them.

Sounds sick but have you actually seen the "burning black" finish on the Venaci mesh? I have in person and IMO it looks nothing like the actual burning black on the works. Just giving you a heads up in case you're expecting it to be like the work burning black.

I want to see the finished product with a side profile shot also before giving final judgment. The color looks like it's really guna pop. I have stoptechs and I think the only thing I would change about it is having the rotor hat color matched to the caliper so that it doesn't rust.

^^thanks konx, supposedly, I'll have them on by late Sept... Yeah, they are very similar to the Gnosis.. Dude, I'm right there w/ ya.. <running around in circles patting the flames in my pockets>

^by15vc, yeah I've seen the Venaci burning black, friend of mine has the Spirits in that line.. but haven't seen the work BB.. How do they differ? Since I've never seen the work BB, don't really have anything to compare it to.. Is the work BB darker? I think w/ my car being so dark, that'll aide the face of the rims as well as w/ the caliper color underneath.. it'll bring out more contrast as well hopefully, especially w/ that polished lip right next to it, the textures should pop for real.

I'm definitely going to give my car a proper shoot when everything gets assembled.. Also waiting on my hood and trunk to arrive as well...
