Natural Gas Civic + Projector Retrofit = !?!?

I've haven't heard to anyone else obsessed enough to retrofit a Civic GX (natural gas, 100 or so Horsepower). With my usual tight schedule, this took about 6-8 months.

It's aftermarket projector headlights, with the original halogen projector moved to the high beam/DRL section. Low beam is a SC430 with retrofitsource.com clear lenses, and further modified to produce a sharper cutoff. The SC430 shield was painted with duplicolor metalcast blue. The bezel was painted with the same blue paint.

This was at home testing the LEDs. 4 LEDs added for DRL. Ring of LEDs around the halogen projector. Orange LEDs in the signal area with the two way mirror infinity light effect.

Mounted on the car.

Corner parking light closeup. I'm using the original stock orange bulb for signaling.

The usual purple/cutoff.

Check out that cutoff!!! JK, this was stock OEM Honda cutoff with the halogens.

That's better. Same camera setting as the previous pic (ISO 400, shutter 1/4).

I'm just running OEM Philips bulbs with Morimoto 35W ballasts. I don't want to go to 55W with this car.

A better cutoff pic.

From outside the car. Also some cheap Ebay LED taillights. They're actually not too bad, and saved me the trouble of having to retrofit LEDs in the taillights.

Comparison to the previous pic with how the S2000 projectors looked in my G35 coupe. I don't remember the camera settings on these last two pics, but I'm running 55W ballasts with DL50 Philips bulbs on the G35.

Did you modify the shield on the sc430 projectors for a clearer cut off?

Thanks, everyone. The shield is painted blue. But I spaced the lens to achieve the sharper cutoff. It's just like focusing a camera, you just need the exact focal length/spacing.

The cutoff on my G35 isn't as sharp because I put the headlight protector film on the outside. I didn't want random accidents to screw up those headlights.

I also installed the underbody diffusers from the hybrid Civic, supposedly that'll reduce the drag down to 0.26.

I'll get some daytime pics this week.

Very nice! Those SC's are beautiful aren't they? I had a set with an E30 lense swap in my Altima that I recently sold....they compare very nicely with the S2K's. I'm going to be putting a pair of S2K's in my G sedan this spring. I'm hoping they're as nice as my SC's were. I had debated putting a pair of 350Z'z in if I have the room but idk.......

Go with the SC430s or S2Ks. Both are very nice. The S2Ks do bow down towards the sides. I'm surprised that the SC430s don't do that, since both projectors are very similar.

PeteNJ, haven't seen you around in a while, or maybe I just haven't seen your posts lately. I completed these taillights about 2 years ago:
