replaced the front subframe......

replaced the front subframe......

here's some pics of what happens when you hit a small boulder while doing 40mph.



old and new comparison



some of the under body damage. nothing major


found a broken motor mount when the old subframe was removed.


and this was not a hard swap either. maybe 2hrs start to finish.

^ I was driving home from a meet. I was behind a truck and he drove over a brick on the interstate (wtf). Since there were cars on either side of me I couldnt switch lanes and had no choice but to go over it. It cracked my nismo bumper, bent my gt spec tie bar and dented my front cross member. Luckily I didn't run it over with my te's.

did it mess with your alignment? after i hit this thing my steering wheel was off to the right when the car was going straight.

^ nah, it just dented the part where the lower control arm bolts to the sub frame. Works perfectly fine, but since im OCD I'll change it lol. Also I had the spl v1 upper control arms at the time so that could be why my alignment didn't get messed up

i got the same uppers, do yours squeek and you have to spray the ball joint?

^ they don't squeak, they just sometimes hit my shock towers since my g is pretty low. I have since upgraded to the v3.havent gotten a chance to install them yet. Since I'm in Alaska right now and my car is at home lol
