Thanks, everyone
I'm glad you enjoyed the read. I'm trying to work a deal on some KW V2s with 200 miles on them right now (crosses fingers). This will put aftermarket wheels on the back of the priority list.
Yeah. For $15, I got to see if I liked all black wheels before dropping $400 on powdercoating them. I'm glad I did because I decided on doing something different than all black.

I want to see the viper
Awesome read, u give some great insight into your history of modding.
It's nice to see what process past members have gone through with dif rides, more users should do this.
Only if they've stuck with modding though, no boring stuff.
I remember admiring your G on here back when I got my coupe in 06', it gave me some great ideas on how I wanted to mod.
I had no idea that u had so many issues with the Z, that sux. That Z was so tight!
Keep us posted on the Viper, it's nice to see a supercar properly dropped.

KW V2s shipped today....ETA is Wednesday!
We will be going for a cruise this Saturday to the new Hooters on Clearwater Beach and then Cars and Coffee next Saturday to have some fun with the Gold Rush guys
Thanks, man! Your G is epic!
It's be a very high/very low journey at times, but I have no regrets so far getting back into car modding after not touching my Z for 6 months.
I still have a soft spot for my old G...wouldn't mind picking another one up as a daily consdering how reliable they are, but I know I would end up modding it. I have to stay with a boring daily if I want to stay out of trouble, haha.
The Z was a beautiful car inside and out...I should have kept it NA and I'd still be in love with it.

Heck no! 8-10 mpg would be killer on the wallet. I have a POS 2002 Taurus as a daily, haha. I want to get a plate for the Taurus that says "I'd rather be driving my Viper". I bet no one would believe me.
To support my G modding addiction, I did valet parking all through college. I was a subcontractor for Pratt & Whitney for a year and a half to support my Z modding addiction. Since September, I'm a Customer Service Lead at BayCare, one of the largest heath care systems in Florida.
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the read.
Installed the KWs last weekend. The car rides SO much better! This was from Cars and Coffee yesterday. All 4 tires tuck a tad

Not sure if you guys can see them, but here's a link to my picures on FB from Cars & Coffee yesterday

goldRush stopped by. Ever seen a Veyron...let alone 3?

Rolling shot from yesterday

Thanks, Danny! I can't wait to see yours now that it's finally finished.

Time for a BIG update...good and bad.
To start where I left off...The first weekend I had the car, I installed a K&N intake. A day before what I'm about to say, I installed some KW V2 coilovers, changed the diff/transmission fluid for some Mobil 1 synthetic, and had the car aligned. In June (just 1,200 miles later), my motor spun 2 rod bearings. My motor seized on June 30th and I had it towed on July 30th. After a longgg wait, I was finally able to pick up the car Friday! The motor was built by Nelson Competition (very well known engine builder who built Lee Saunder's 7-second Viper and Sal's 6-second Viper). I just did an OEM rebuild, but with a few tweaks (their mod for extra lubrication to the crank, ARP head studs, Clevite main/rod bearings, cosmetic headgasket). With the money I saved over doing a full heads/cam build, I ended up buying some Modulare Forged M15 wheels with satin black centers/lips/inner barrels/hardware (19"x10" with 275/30/19 Nitto Invos and 20"x13" with 345/25/20 Nitto Invos) and Belanger 1.75" equal length longtube headers during the build. I also upgraded to Woodhouse Dodge polyurethane motor/transmission mounts, new battery, new OEM clutch, had the flywheel resurfaced, and added some black Viper decals to the calipers.
I've put about 300 miles on it so far and have kept the RPMS under 3500. I plan to do a 500 mile breakin before starting to open it up. The only problem I had was having the Belanger headers installed. I bought the car with cat deletes, Mopar mufflers, but with the OEM rear crossover piping
Whomever did the work did some welding, so the headers will not mate up to the exhaust. I'm taking it to my exhaust guy as soon as posisble to get the headers on and get rid of the OEM crossover piping. I'd like to tune the car afterwards and then finally enjoy it
Test fitting the wheels the night I picked up my car
