you hit the nail right on the head with your first set up.

Looks like a semi truck from the rear with your new setup.

 

It might look ugly or half assed to you, which is a valid opinion, but it's undeniable to any reasonable person that it flows with the cars existing lines.

 

wow from the back it looks horid. maybe charge speed full rear would really help. but oem rear looks pretty awful

if you got the fenders molded onto the car it would make it look right. They need to seem as if they are ment to be on the car. Fitment, going off the pics it doesnt look quality at all.

That aside I like the look and envisioning how it could be if properly done.
