Had high hopes for this. But after seeing the Genesis Coupe.... Err. I mean the Q60 Coupe concept. Not sure what to think. Looks like a Genesis Coupe / Mazda hybrid.
I still think the G35 Coupe was the best design Infiniti has ever come up with. Everything else is meh..
A thinly-veiled concept version of Infiniti’s next-generation Q60 coupe will make its debut next week at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, a teaser for which was released last month. Today we have some new photos of the concept, which features a striking design clearly influenced by Infiniti’s Q80 Inspiration concept unveiled at the 2014 Paris Auto Show.
Looks like Infiniti is going further up the scale but, if horsepower and performance numbers aren't up to par than they will have a lot of coupes they can't sell. However I do see this car doing well in used car segment. The first generation coupe was and still is the best looking.
I hate it. Pisses me off when good companies don't stick to what made them good. I agree this looks like a Mazda Genesis ISF. Even Nissan "borrowed" the G35 lines for their newer Altimas and they look great. I appreciate companies like BMW sticking to what works. You can still ID a 1980-Present BMW from a block away.
The V35 shape is just too old for the brand. This is most likely what will happen. I Just want to know how much power it will make and the transmission options.
Honestly I like both renderings. My main concern is power and performance. The Q50 is using horsepower figures from the G37s and when introducing a completely new car, for me that's a no, no.
Yes, they added new this and new that but, for me performance is what matters. I don't need 3d navigation. There's no better 3d than looking out my windshield. Also, car companies are putting the driving in the hands of the car and not the driver where it should be. Anything that distracts from driving is unnecessary. Most systems are useless and add weight thus hurting the cars performance potential. That's why I love high end cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, the GT-R and others.
People treat their car like it's a living room where they can stretch out, relax and watch tv and as a result of not paying attention more vehicle fatalities occur each year. It's time for car companies to make cars that perform instead of making living rooms on wheels.
Thanks Nissan for creating the G series. One of the best cars on the road today.
The 3.7 with 7 speed is mysteriously quick. Compare any other car with the same power, it just doesn't have the speed. Same for the Q50 sedan.
I had a Q50 for a loaner and I was very impressed with the performance but as with the G37 coupe, power was great but I didn't feel as connected to the road as I do in my G coupe.
I'll have to see the finished product before I decide if I'm sticking with Infiniti or going used E92 M3.
Whats up with these massively obnoxious grills nowadays, they look like ugly cheese graters.
IMO only Audi has pulled that look off well.
Hey Infiniti.. I'm not interested in driving a whale shark
It looks alright, but I can't stand the outdated powerplant. Nissan needs a new motor. I'm thinking a 4.3L V8. Get all weird euro with it by adding a small V8, but with a short stroke and big bore. If they built it like they build their VQ, the TQ numbers would be outstanding.
