Truthfully. The shine and cleanness isn't going to last that long. This is why you have repeat the process either 6 or yearly around.

Yes the products were safe for the engine.

i just did mine last sunday, i didnt use any chemicals or anything. Whats a good product to make the black plastic/rubber new looking?

Well you can use any tire dressing, trim dressing or any vinyl rubber or plastic protectant.

Seems like a good amount of people in here are worried about the bay getting wet. Most of the parts are designed to get wet, what do you think happens when its raining while your out driving?

They are not worried about the bay getting wet, they are worried about the electrical components getting wet. That is a no go my friend.
