sxexcx's Custom Grounding Wires // Review //
Most importantly:
04.5 AT G35 Coupe
The Review:
Unlike most grounding kits, sxexcx's kit is designed around the vq35 engine rather than a generic universal kit with lack, as you can see from the pics the wires are nice and tight and look very neat (Installed by sean [sxexcx]). As far as appearance I'd rank this kit 10/10 red isn't the only color hes got them to match your paint finish.
The wires are 100% oxygen free copper (8ga) and can withstand temperatures ranging from -40 to 80 degrees C.
The install took about an hour due to my slammed azz car and not to mention it being on 18in stockers, but once we got it up and lifted it was no problem. Sean goes the extra mile to attach a bonus point on the tranny, which most kits dont take advantage of, so he got a nice upskirt view and went all the way under, another bonus to his kit over others.
After the install sean resets the ecu with some crazy pedal hacking so i had the first 50 miles to teach the ecu just exactly how i drive. On the drive home i noticed several things. Knowing the said benefits of grounding kits on the way up i played with my manumatic mode so i would see the differences a little more clearly. There is a definite lag in the manumatic mode on our AT cars, after the wires that lag is almost gone, combined with the more accurate throttle response that i noticed it made shifting a lot more fun. i could hit the down shift and immediately accelerate and the car would really kick, much more than it used to. Don't get me wrong we didn't install a turbo or anything and the hp gains are slim, but the car feels more together as in the transitions of actions in the engine bay seem to work in a little more unison. At some points in time my stereo lights flicker and the entire way home i didn't notice one point where the lights went dim. The car really picks up on the way home a 335i joined me and we were neck and neck.
for the price you really cant go wrong i'd recommend sxexcx's grounding wires to anyone whose got a vq, it looks good, works well and with the money you save you can buy a new dell.

Looks good. I've also found differences in kits that I've tried.
A friend tried one off Ebay that sucked big time, so I was skeptical at first. I tried the Sun Auto is very generic and the ground points are hit and miss. I used the ground points from Z-xtreme on the net as I understand he and Gordgee originally co-developed the kits for the VQ engine back in 2002.
I then tried Stillen (custom for the VQ) which were surprisingly poorly made and had poor results and went back to the Sun Auto.
Then for the hell of it, I finally went to GroundingGear, Gordgee's company, and it was a revelation! Quality and response from my G was noticeable over the other 2! My Review So for a Commercial kit, that's the way I'd go. It's what I've been recommending to my friends that drive a variety of different vehicles where they've developed Custom Systems.
Looks like this is a good copy, and if the price is right, then it'd be worth a try.
