??? Stillen Engine Brace Damper

I own an 2004 g35 coupe automatic, I just installed my stillen engine brace damper, I noticed alot more difference when accelerating, which is what its supposed to do, i just alittle worried if restraining the motor like this will allow for motor mounts or drive shafts or whatever to break or twist, Has any one had any after affects after installing this part. Do i need to worry about putting lock tight on any screws to prevent them from coming out just because all that vibration

lemme know,

I have had the Stillen Damper for 1yr now (06 6mt) and no problem. I think there is a slight performance gain and no real downside, also realtively inexpensive upgrade (esp compared to other $$$ Stillen mods).

Installed the stillen engine damper today ,took about an hour. Got every thing put back together , went for a test drive . Tha g felt slower, Not as quick ,4 days ago i did my throttle body cleaning and plugs , i was quick , But not today. Could it be the heat?.waited till dark went for a drive @47 degrees ,the g was slower and less responsive than ever before . What changed. The only thing that changed was that one ground wire. You have to move the stock ground wire to another mounting bolt just above the old position and that mounting spot is some type of anodized metal .....so just as a test i reattached the ground wire back to the original position. I just bent the copper plate to straighten it so it would fit. Went for a test drive. Gobbs of power. I have gords 10 wire grounding kit ......i don't know jack about how a grounding kit works......... But i know that gords 10 wire set works. Could repositioning the stock ground change the way the way that the grounding kit works?

damn it... I used to always read Stillen engine damper threads and say " I have to remember to get one"... then I finally got one - and every time I read a Stillen Engine damper thread I say "I have to remember to install it"

lol, yes – finally… I thought I lost it for while, looked and looked but couldn’t find it – then found a bag of paint and sandpaper for a project I had forgotten about… the project was to paint the Engine Damper (I never thought to look in the bag was I was trying to find the thing)

Honestly, I don’t think I notice any difference with it installed… but it was installed after recent body work in which the car was sitting for 2 months… so there was no immediate before and after driving… to make matters more difficult to ascertain benefits, I had also installed the OEM air box while car was in shop (I hadn’t driven with OEM box for well over 4 yrs) and honestly when I switched back to Stillen with cone filter the car felt peppier – so if there were any benefits from the engine damper I might not have noticed since the OEM air box seems to slightly decrease throttle response (at least on my car).

Not really a great review of the damper… but so many other things have been going on with my car that this mod just kinda fell in and got little attention

First of all I know this thread is old. In fact that's the point of me reviving it.

Just wondering if any of you with this engine damper still own your cars and if you've had long term problems because of it..?
