HKS Ti True Dual Exhaust w/Crawford Cats

I had ordered the exhaust and the cats from Performance Nissan, and they were really easy to work with regarding shipping (which, to Hawaii, is a PITA) and got them here, originally intending to install them on my own.

However, once I got the car up on jackstands, and started wrenching on the old exhaust, I realized laying on my back with the exhaust less than a foot from my face was not an ideal way to spend my weekend. So I made an appointment with a local muffler shop to do the work for me on Monday morning.

Just picked my car up, and WOW!

The sound, although louder than before (of course) is still quite tolerable, and actually sounds good. Not the ricey sound of a Civic with a 4 inch exhaust but good, burbly kind of.

The power is definitely improved. My butt dyno is relatively worthless, as when I put the Crawford plenum and Z tube in, I felt really nothing, although I know the plenum is good for about 10 HP or so. The exhaust and cats, on the other hand, are more than that, because I definitely felt a big difference throughout the power band. Much improved, and really nice.

I like it, and the true test of whether something is worth it or not is whether you would do it again, knowing what you know now. My answer is yes, I would do it again!

cool....

is the HKS exhaust the $1900+ Ti TD setup or the $1400 not fully Ti setup with the rear silencers?

Well, it has the rear resonating chambers, I paid over 1400 for it, but not 1900, and it is fully Ti.

Does that answer your question?

Bulletproof's product description for the second exhaust says stainless steel piping with titanium tips......

http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...il.php?ID=3650

is your's different with all titanium? that would be good....

I am still trying to justify paying more for #1 but am seriously considering #2....thanks for the info.

If it's "#2", then it's stainless with Ti tips only. I have it.... and love it.

It's #2, but..... the rainbow heat welding effect that is only on titanium, and not on stainless is also on the mufflers, and some other parts of the pipes.

Oh, and as I said earlier, I love it.

So, what exactly is #1 in your pictures? And where can I find one? Also, does anyone know how large the exhaust tips are? I am really looking for an exhaust w/ nice gains that is TRUE dual. I'm scared about Stillen b/c everyone says it's too loud... and the resonator pipes on the HKS look weird...

I asked around and "#1" will not fit the G well, it was intended for 350Z fitment. You would have to weld extensions onto that exhaust to make it fit on the G.

I still don't know if #2 is true dual or y-pipe? any feddback from those who have installed it. Bulletproof's item description was a little confusing whether true dual or Y-pipe or TD in Y-pipe shape cat back.....

doc i believe the exhaust is true dual with an H-pipe. it is confusing even in pictures b/c the H-pipe section with the resonators looks like a Y-pipe (it's all 1 big piece), but they are separate pipes

Both exhausts are true dual. If you would like, you can PM C-Keith and ask him about the HKS exhaust. He has the exhaust in the 2nd picture.

it is a true dual exhaust the tip is 5" (120mm) and the pipe itself is 2.5" (i think, cause its 60mm iono how much that is in inches) the exhaust is stainless steal and the tip is titaninum =)
