I need a new DVD player and something to stream Netflix to my new tv so I figure it'd be a good investment don't play games so its not a big deal

well if ya don't plan to play, then why over-pay ? I bought the base ps3 when it first came out and as nice as it is, i can probably count how many times i've used it on my fingers.

Also Sony BR-DVD/network media players are selling for a buck thirty @ my local Costco

heck i bought a plain ol' Sony network media player for $89 @ BestBuy but thinking of getting the other one with the BR-DVD option instead

joe..theres so many cheaper options to stream netflix to your tv. stand alone blue ray players have netflix stream on them. (like the post above)

even the wii streams netflix, and its price just dropped to 149.99.

or even if you have a laptop with a hdmi port, you can hook that up to your tv.

But if I can have all that plus the option of playing games... I'm pretty sure I can pick one up for around $200, including a couple games.
