Problem With Wheel Lips

Soo this is how my wheel lips looked today before i sanded them

The second image if you can see it has like a slight spotty discoloration after i sanded it ... wth did i sand off and could i just clear it back?

I am sure there is some sort of clear coat, or anodize on them. Probally need to get all the way through it, then work your way up to 2500, compound, polish.

lol yea that was my idea do it 400,1000,and then 2000 but when i saw that color changed i stopped the 400 so i dont ruin it .... wats the anodize process?

You could also drop down and start with a lower grit like 320, to break through the anodize coating, then polish the metal. Are you wetsanding? If so what color is coming off when you are sanding whitish clear?

yea im pretty sure whitest gray ... and yea im wet sanding

I just recently Did a repair myself, it went really well for me, I could give you a hand if your in the Miramar Are, or your could DIY with this link which is what I used,

i might just paint the lips a type of silver .... hope it will come out good doe
