Brand New, AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black and MSI 790FX-GD70 mobo
Up for sale are:
1) AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor - $175 shipped
2) MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - $160 shipped
Both - $325 shipped

Here's the story, I purchased these from NewEgg for a DIY build. I put everything together and fired it up. Ran great for 6 weeks. Suddenly it crashed, and nothing would start up, the motherboard lights and fans would spin, but the video and no post. I did some testing to the best of my ability (I have a C.S. bachelor degree, for what it's worth) and narrowed it down to the CPU and/or motherboard. So I sent them off to their respective manufactures and got them replaced. In the mean time, my job provided me an updated laptop, so I'm putting the home desktop on hold for now. Up for sale are the replacement units. The CPU is brand new and factory sealed, the motherboard may not be, but looks like all the accessories are in there. With this build, I also purchased OCZ AMD Black Edition DDR3 SDRAM, which is supposed to be able to run at 1600 Mhz with some tweaking (overclocking) of the motherboard. However, when on the phone with AMD's tech support, they told me that's probably what fried the CPU/Mobo. So, just a word of caution, do not run this CPU with RAM at 1600 Mhz. Other than that... the CPU is factory sealed and brand new retail box, the motherboard is direct from the factory, but looks like it might be a refurb.
I'm in no hurry to sell, but with technology changing along with pricing, I'll leave these on the forum for a few days, if no interest, I'll throw them up on Ebay and get my throat slit by their fees.
