vdc light and slip only come on when......and wont shut off

please read...i've searched and didnt find anything...I HAVE a 2004 g35 sports coupe 6spd.......18" stock oems.....i recently had to get a whole new front drivers tire and my car was in the shop for some other work (after a minor accident) and now as soon as I start the car everything SEEMS to be ok.... I can turn on and off the vdc and its ok....I can back up and everything....but when I put it into 1st gear and start to move the light just pops on saying VDC OFF and the slip light is SOLID ON ...(its only susposed to blink when you are slipping) ....and it wants to kick in and brake for a few seconds then nothing and the vdc stays off no matter if i push the button or not...... even if i shut the car off and turn it off....the light will still come on for slip and even when i go really slow.....I have the exact same tire as my passenger side but i'm wondering because its 1 new tire on the driver side and 1 used but with a lotta tread still left if its throwing off the traction control.....

i've searched and searched and read other topics but thats mostly from people burning out and a bunch of lights coming on.......

do i have to go out and buy a brand new tire for my passenger side also now???? and what should i do? i made a apt with the dealer cause its still under warrantee. but.....maybe theres something i can do.....I HAVE NO VDC .....in any grit or sand my car will wanna fish tail into the turn with my sport tires....I need to get snow tires but i want my vdc working...

please help,
thanks,
neal

The lights come on most commonly for 2 things:
low brake fluid
brake pads are low

Take it back to the garage that did the work and tell them about it.

If they don't feel they're qualified to work on the electronics, get them to authorize taking the car to the dealer.

Yeah I decided to do my first donut in the car 3 days ago when it was wet (because i didnt want to wear down the tires too much) and it did it to me as well. Turned the car off and then back on and it was fine.

yea well its not doing that for me and thats not the case.....the car was fine a month ago....got fixed cause i broke the lower control arm and fender and wheel..and now its doing it...and no matter what i do when i shut it off the light goes out but pops back on as soon as i start to drive it no matter how fast or slow i go and vdc wont kick in ..and slip stays solid when it shouldnt......anyone else know what to do??? what can the dealer do? they said at first it passed with diagnostics but i guess they never test drove it to see what i mean ...could it be cause of the new tire on one side?

for everyone to read also....

thanks for the pm ....if i pull off fast with vdc on when i start my car and when i get to like 10mph the vdc kicks in and brakes but then shows vdc off and the slip light doesnt blink at all...just comes on and stays on......and if i take it off or leave it on but take off slow they both come on but dont brake......funny how my car was already flattbedded to the dealer to reset my airbag light (barely hit my bumper but enough to deploy my airbags) which sucked.......didnt even need them considering i was like stopped and barely moved or shook....but they failed to either test drive it or i guess they scanner didnt pick up the code...so i'm going to make sure they drive it and also they see that the light will not go off.....the car runs fine...i would just like to have the light off and my vdc working for in the snow......and heavy rain....anyways thanks man, i'll let u know wednesday when it goes in the shop......

my car was hit driver side right by the corner of my bumper , enough to crack my bumper, push in my fender, crack my lower control arm, scratch my rim and get a new tire also.....and deploy my airbags.......17grand later for all oem parts and labor....i got basically a brand new car with all new parts but now stupid vdc and slip light on with no traction controll sucks.

taking it to the dealer again wednesday...hopefully the bodyshop flatbeds it again

what's the tread depth difference between the driver and passenger?

I found that the car is pretty sensitive to stuff like that...and can hinder everyday drivability. My experience - I used to have 255/45/18 and 235/40/18. for some time, it was driving fine...then all of a sudden..the ABS starts tweeking out. I had hard pedal and a grinding sound coming from the front as I pressed onto the brake pedal. My solution was to totally disable the ABS it was unaffected. I would also get the VDC/Slip light whenever I hit a certain mph...over 30mph or so, and stays on untill i shut off the car. Eventually, I had to get new tires, and I was more careful this time...I've reinstated the ABS and it has worked fine with the new choices in tires.

Thats an error code for multiple things. But since you had an accident you can probably trace it back to bad alignment or something along those lines.

I would take it to a dealership to have them read the error code, then go from there...
