here are the results of 1500grit, followed by 3000grit, Megs 105 with wool, then 205 with foam and rotary. HUGE improvement and amount of light that can pass through to the road now!






total time was about 20 min

 

Sanding our headlights is a no no...Try some polish and a buffer, then finish up with some wax.

You can try several things. Try buying a headlight restoring kit, using rubbing compound, or if you are really cheap, tooth paste. Yes I said tooth paste, its a mild abrasive and does work but doesn't give you a awesome clear lense.

It works, but rubbing compound works better.


I know its not a G35 and its a POS but you gotta save money some how to get your car right!? Anyway just regular turtle wax rubbing compound some water and a electric drill with a pad, and a buffer pad. I got mine at harbor freight as a set for 9 bucks.

 

The 3M restoration kit works wonders, I advise to use your hand rather than the drill they recommend. In my opinion, it's WORTH the $20 you invest in being able to see better at night and plus it looks good better that way anyways! Toothpaste works but doesn't hold the job for a long time and you'll have to keep doing it over and over. I forget where I saw someone post something negative about the toothpaste and that made me not use it when I was going to clean my lens and now I can't find it!

 

Sure can be fixed

 

It absolutely can be fixed. I have never tried it by hand, however using a PC or a Flex will yield some great results. Unfortunately I do not have pics, however one recent customer vehicle I did had some moderate hazing and it was about 95% corrected using my Flex with a 4" pad and Poorboys SSR1.
