any good places for my 2007 infiniti g35x other than dealership?

hello everyone

i bought a used 2007 infiniti g35x two days ago. i bought it from used car dealer.
i wasn't sure if its well maintained. so i went to dealership and checked some.
my mileage is about 156k. they said i should change rear diff. fluid, brake oil fluid(flush), transmission oil, power steering oil and 6 spark plugs. all of them cost about $1000. i was so shocked!!!! i know its safe and reliable if i do all of them at the dealership, but its way too much. i know they charge the labour for $118+tax/hr. plug itself is $19 each. total genuine plugs are $114+tax, but they said it's going to be $415 with labour.
anyways, im looking for a place that i can do all of that works for reasonable price.
i still can buy parts from the dealership. so, please recommend me any good places where provide good and reliable services. i live in toronto, canda. thank you

Hi and welcome to G35driver.

Try these to help you get started.

You will probably have more luck finding local help in the Canada section.

Also, there are many places to buy factory and aftermarket parts, much less expensive than from a dealership in most cases.

Wow...156k miles used?

I'm not even sure how much longer the car will last even after you do the service. At this point, it depends on how the previous owner treated the car and how they maintain it. I'm sure pretty soon you'll also need new shocks/suspension, etc. I'm also having doubts about the transmission's longevity. You might also need one soon, depending on how the previous owners treated it. Since you live in Toronto, a major city, the transmission probably took more of a beating than if it was all highway miles.

I've seen cars that already fail at around 130k that need major engine/transmission repairs. I don't expect Nissan/Infiniti to last nearly as long as Toyota/Lexus.

The longest I've had a car last is around 250k miles, and that's with an engine swap!

I don't. I've had a lot of problems with my G that had to be fixed under warranty, and it's only at 67k miles now. I've got weird buzzing noises when it's cold on acceleration now, some creaking when it's extremely hot, and some humming that I had to have the wheel bearing replaced under warranty. I've also had to get the power steering rack replaced since it was leaking, etc.

My transmission is already starting to feel a little weirder than before, so I'm not optimistic. All the cars I had before were Toyota/Lexus, and they don't have ANY of these problems.

Lemon cars. They happen to every auto manufacturer. Sorry to hear it happened to you...but it does happen.

We had an '01 BMW 325i with 75k on the clock that was plagued with one problem after another. I swear the car was haunted.

One of my friends has a car that is the same model year with nearly 185k on it, and it runs flawlessly.

Do you maintain your cars properly? It's not unheard of for a Nissan to go 300, or even 400k miles on an original motor and transmission. The fact that you've only been able to make a car last up to 250k, with a motor swap and such makes me wonder...my G has 232k on the clock, and if I had to, I wouldn't think twice about hopping in it and driving cross-country on a moment's notice.

OP: You scared me. Until I saw the, "Toronto, CA," my jaw hit the floor when I saw $118/hr labor.

I noticed you live in Waterloo, I know of a very reliable mechanic in New Market. The shop is called Simone Performance. The owner Vick is amazing and gouging isn't in his vocabulary.

They know the cars inside out since they race G35 coupes's and Sentra Spec-V's.

Here's their info:

200 Mulock Dr, Newmarket, ON L3Y 9B6

Of course I maintain my car properly. Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes every 5k and transmission fluid changes every 40k miles as well as Mobil super unleaded gas at every fill up. I also had the coolant flushed at 60k miles. The problems I am having are not due to lack of maintenance anyways.

I'm not the only one to complain about how these cars are like:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...olding-up.html

The reason why I had to do a motor swap (it was a 1992 Toyota Cressida) was because my wife drove the car and still kept going even after the engine overheated. It caused engine damage, and it was never the same afterwards.

My brother in law had an IS300 2003. He got the tranny replaced at 38XXXkm's. Another 10XXXkm's and got his head and ball joints replaced. All this with a vehicle under 50000km's. So that's what 30 000miles. You got lemons for all makes. Nothing s bulletproof and it sounds like you got a lemon G.

I really can't agree with this post. My father owned a '91 or '92 (I forget) Nissan Maxima that he owned for 10-years then gave to my cousin who just got rid of it earlier this year with over 350,000 miles and original engine and tranny. And a friend of mine had a '95 or so that he put a quarter million miles on. Nissan aka Infiniti indeed builds cars to last if you take care of them and more importantly simply keep them.

No, but you certainly seem to be the most prolific complainant lately. As if it were an agenda, you seem to have set up shop in numerous threads here to complain and spread seeds of discontent about these cars. It's unfortunate you have such a bad impression about them, but I don't think it's fair to represent that impression as either accurate or typical. Frankly, I think you should give it a rest already.
