1. Car will have a 1 inch fender to tire gap in rear
2. I don't want visibly high camber
3. I do not do the stretch route like 10.5 wheel on 265s or something like that.
My current tires are horrible in every aspect of performance and alot goes back to my many years in the drag racing world. So I've never had smaller than 245s and ran 275-295 rear tires on my other cars for the past 15 years. You can really tell the difference between 225 vs 275 on the pavement.
So again this is a serious inquiry. I buy wheels based on what tires I run. I know a trend is really wide wheels and really small tires and have half the tire off the ground with alot of camber and slammed to the top of the wheel but that isn't me. The car will have a 1 inch fender to tire gap and if I can run 9.5 to 10 inch wheels with a proper 285-295 tire I wheel. Front fenders are already rolled and it's nothing for me to go ahead and do the rears. I imagine the tire will come out past flush a little bit. Will the suspension compress an inch and hit the top of the tire with a 1 inch gap.
Doing searches the most recent thing I can find is from 09 where a guy put 285 or 295s on his sedan but can't really find anything within the last 5-7 years on searches. I'm a straight line guy so need to get this organized. The factory 17x7s aren't doing it for me.

But still, for the 285's you'll be wanting 10/10.5 wide wheels and the fender rolling stuff still stands
I'm running 285 35 20 on a 10.5. The only rubbing is on the rear bumper bracket so it has not much to do with the width and more so to do with the oversize tire diameter. 30 profile would suit better but this is what I had available at the time. It doesn't actually touch anymore though at the current ride height.
285 is the perfect size for 10.5 inch wheel, the Michelins have quite a chunky sidewall compared to stuff like Falken/Nankang but there is still no bulging of the sidewalls or anything.
The camber I have is natural from the drop and no extra camber was needed for clearance but the fender had to be rolled to accommodate for the quite aggressive offset of the wheel. It's definitely worth rolling the fender for clearance as you'll easily get another 10-15mm space and maybe a little more with a slight pull.
Also, with a 1 inch wheel gap you shouldn't have any problems with normal driving and touching.
What size wheels are you thinking of?
I think 19's are perfect but that little extra tire cost pushes me to 20's to be honest. Pic I'm copying below was from "G Sedan" in 2009 on here running a 295/25.20 but that's a tad to small in height for me. I will run 285/30/20 or 275/30/20 both are 26.5 to 26.7 in height and that's in the rear. I probably will go with a 245/35/20 on 8 inch wheel in front. Wheel size isn't an issue for me to figure out once I figure the tire I want to run. I've always been happy with a 275 on a 9 inch rim and 285 on a 9.5 to 10 inch wheel. I think I will stick out a tad more than you do with the Coupe. Looks great but I think a 1 finger gap to 1 inch gap is perfect for me at my old age of 35 years
