It is my sincere hope that all of those who street race will one day either be caught or have to deal with some major injury to themselves to MAYBE keep them from doing it to someone else. The roads aren't private and there are ALWAYS other people out there - not to mention the US does not keep their roads in Autobahn condition - they aren't safe at racing speeds!
Oh comom haven't you ever got the urge to show that guy in the left lane revving his engine what's really up. If you say no then you're not telling the whole truth.

Oh yeh I have most definately gotten the urge!! The thing is that I am not going to *do* it. I spent a large part of my "formative" years in the pits at a drag strip. I was told from a very young age that there were safe and appropriate ways to race. I believe 1000% that it is true. I LOVE to drive fast but I will admit freely that the couple (less than 5) times in the 11 years I have been driving that I have driven above 95 (99.9% sure that I have never broke 100) I was nervous. I don't believe I am a bad driver but I know what the condition of the roads I have driven on are and they are not safe for 100+mph. Even if you take the factor of other cars out - the roads are not safe for those speeds.

I don't agree with street racing AT ALL in ANY circumstance PERIOD! I have turned in quite a few tag numbers of people that I saw racing on the Hwy near our house to the cops and I will continue to do so. We have chased them down and chewed their little highschool punk @$$es for it too - and I will again if need be. If you want to race - take it to the track. Around here it costs you all of $10 to run as many times as you can in about a 4 hour period. Don't make your ego someone else's problem because you are a safety hazzard to yourself and others.

That's the point. You can't control "innocents" when you're on the streets. No matter how safe you think it is, it is still an uncontrolled environment and any number of factors can come into play.

Your mommy and daddy won't let you take the G that far. Plus your curfew, don't forget about that.

Hmmm... that gives me an idea. I'm gonna go find some pointless, stupid, heated thread back from 03, and "bump" it...
