Anyone running these tire sizes? 19" staggered setup w/ beefier sidewalls? I was about to finally buy a non-staggered setup on 245/40/19's, which I know work on an 8.5" wheel; however, just found out there aren't any available in non-staggered and they don't know if/when they'll be available....they only have staggered setup 8.5"/9.5". I will not be dropping the car at all, so I think this setup should work. If you're wondering why I don't go w/ the 35/30 series tires...2 reasons: 1) fender gap and 2) less sidewall. The place I want to purchase from said I may be able to fit the 40/35 setup (so as long as I don't drop the car), and they were going to look into it for me & get back to me.

Just wanted to hear from someone who's running this & if any issues or if there's someone who knows their $H!T ( Chico ? ) when it comes to tire setups.

Thanks all.

What offset will the wheels be? I think you will be fine, if you can give me the offsets I will tell you for sure.

+35 up front/ +45 in the rear (Axis Milano's to be exact) I believe this is the most common/best fit scenario for our sedans.

Thanks JRAN. BTW....how do you calc./figure this out? What's your source? Just curious.

I'm also looking into getting Milanos for my sedan, and was wondering the same thing. My G is lowered with 19" coupe wheels right now. I'm concerned that my rear might be rubbing (tight 2 finger gap). With 9.5 in the rear, will a 275/35/19 tire in the rear cause any problems with +45 offsets? I was thinking 245/35 in front, and 275/35 in the rear.

Someone help? Please!

You'll be fine.

I'm running 9.5 fronts with 245/35/19 and 10.5 with 275/35/19.

Here are the two calculators that I use (and most others seem to use these also). The Tolan one will help a lot with offsets and tire sizing, the Miata one is good for tire diameter sizing.

http://gs.tolan-hoechst.com/tirecalc.htm

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Now, will it rub?
I used my current set up as the basis of comparision, and basically your tire will stick out .2 inches further than mine and you will sit .05 inches lower. When I was at stock height I was not close to rubbing, but .2 inches is a lot more than it sounds like. I am going to guess that you may rub slightly. If you do it will be VERY minimal and a slight roll to the fender should cure the problem. I actaully would say it is 50/50, but I would assume it is going to rub. With the sedan, if you want to run 275 and a 9.5 rear, there is always a pretty good chance you are going to rub. See my attached "sedan wheel fitment chart" by THX723, it has you size and offset, and it looks like you are still outside the inside fender line of the rear.

From what I have seen on the sedan, the only sure way not to rub on the 9.5 rear is to run a +42 offset or higher, and the 275/30. I just think the 275/30 is too small when compared to stock on the sedan. I had a 275/35 on my Z and it was a rubberband.

One other thing too. All this is a very inexact science, in that there are a ton of factors that can change things. All brands of tires are slightly different, and alignment effects the clearance (more negative camber will "tuck" the top of the wheel more).

With a 45mm offset you will not rub at all in the rear. Front is fine. I run 38mm offset with the sizes in my sig and I rubbed a little till I bent the fender lips in a litttle and its fine now.

Disco & Slikster - I have a sedan, so I really can't go by what you guys are running .

JRAN - thanks for the info.....I'm not a gambling man, so I don't think I'll be going w/ this setup....guess I need to see if there's anyone who is actually running this setup or start looking into how/when I can get a non-staggered setup. I get the 0.2 inches part...but how do you figure I'll sit 0.05 inches lower?

Sorry Jimmy, I started to ramble on a bit. I should have mentioned I used my 245/45/18 on 18x8 with a +35 offset as comparision. I used that size because I know exactly how it fits, so I based what I was saying off those sizes. If you go with the smaller size it will likely save you some headaches, and you can see if you have the room to go up to the 275/35.

On another note, I am now running 245/40/18's and I will likely go back to the 245/45. The ride is much better with the 45's. I was in the same boat, right between sizes (the 40's are smaller than stock and the 45's larger), so I decided to try both. It is all personal preference, and until you try it, you'll never know....

Thanks G35 TX. Sorry Jimmy for jumping onto your thread.

On a side note, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 19" Milanos. They're 19x8.5 (+40) and 19x9.5 (+45). I'll prob go with 245/35 and 275/35.

No rubby please!

No problem man..Hey, clean up your inbox...tried sending you a PM, but got bounced due to your box being full....anyways, I'll post here:

Yeah, I actually saw those (after Perry05 mentioned them)...so YOU were the one person who put a bid on them over the weekend!

Good deal! What brand tires are you going to go with? I know the Toyo T1-R's come in that size. Please keep me posted....your car is gonna look sweet! Love those Milano's.

I don't think it was me. The guy had 2 sets, and I was going back and forth between which ones to get, +35 or +40 in the front. I saw the +35 set with a few bids already, but the +40 didn't. I couldn't wait any longer, so just took the +40, and just did the buy it now with 2 minutes left.

Sorry about the inbox, I'm selling my coupe 19s, and can't keep up with the PM's.

Hey...you may want to rethink running those sizes on the rear....check out Nick's link/thread here...just just put on his new wheels (not sure what his final specs were, but I'm guessing 275/35/19 in the rear). https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tires/85376-will-rub-help-asap-please.html Let's see what he replies with.
