I'm so bummed right now.
Today was just not my day. It was cool to meet the some of the guys I haven't met before. Just wanted to say thanks to jimmytango. Thanks for helping me out after the accident. I was in such a daze after it happened. I owe you big time bro. I miss my baby already.

I hope he doesn't mind me talking about the accident, so here's a little description. Hexx mentioned that he wasn't going that fast and thought he could take the turn just fine when his back end came out a bit, apparently due to some gravel. At this point he said he understeered and went into the mountain, front right corner first. The point where he hit seemed pretty steep, but according to the car behind him, Hexx's car actually climbed the mountain side a bit and was on then on the verge of flipping over. Thankfully that didn't happen and instead the car's front two wheels re-found the ground with a big thud.
This particular curve was a rather tight 2nd gear turn with the mountain on your right and the cliff on your left. Immediately after this turn is a blind right hander. There is a bit of a semi-straight prior to this turn which would allow you to pick up speed, but also allows a full view of the upcoming corners as this turn was not blind. I'm guessing Hexx underestimated the turn a bit, came in a bit too hot, got heavy on the brakes, possibly locking them up and losing steering response. I'd bet he was still heavy on the brakes while trying to negotiate that turn. After the straight-away, I'm sure he scrubbed off a good deal of speed, but it looks like he pretty much went into the mountain, head on, though a bit at an angle.
The event though unfortunate isn't that bad if you look at things. He wasn't injured, no other cars were involved and though he hit a rock the size of a mountain, it's still better than going off a cliff.
I believe Hexx was the 2nd to last car in the pack. After we were done with that particular canyon we parked a bit and thought those guys just went home. It was only after we re-traced our route on our way to have lunch that we found out about the accident.
Hexx and JimmyTang I think went to get a tow truck since they had no reception. They left a passenger to watch over the car which was stranded on a tight two-lane road. The passenger said some guy drove by and said something to the effect of, "that's a bad place to park as$hole." That was indeed a dicK thing to say, but still a little funny when you look back on things.
