Quote: lol I'm gonna wait till I get my goodies, and also my classes finish. I've missed too many classes, you can ask Mike cuz he'll agree with that hahaha

I'll let you know if I get the need for speed within the next 3 weeks.
So you have night classes? That's not good! It's going to get in the way of your need for speed

Man, after your headers, cats, and TS REFLASH, your going to love your G even more.

Can't wail till I get there.

I think Ill be going next or the following wednesday.

my night classes have been taking some time from the track for over a year now lol I do miss every so often but this semester, I've missed a tonnnn of classes lol I'm not tooo worried though, somehow I always manage to pass with B's and A's lol

I'm sure I will love my G more if I get some sweet *** numbers at the track once I do all those mods to it. Only time will tell.

Hey guys, thanks for letting my tag along again. It was good to see some familiar and new faces (to me anyways). You guys have very nicely and tastefully modded G's and Z's. Pretty cool G owners too. Hopefully the weather will be cooler next time so we can all get better times.

I forgot how comfortable the G seats are. I really want to do more runs with you guys, against the Gs/Z's, but my front driver side brake pad was completely gone - scraping metal/rotor! I drove back to San Diego and brought it to the shop. Maybe some new tires also. I'll be more ready for next one - gotta learn better shifting also - keep missing 3rd gear, (first manual car owned and first track day!) Love the canyon run though, I was cruising the entrie time without touching the brake! Can't wait to do it again. Had a little flashback. I'll definitely hang around a little longer with you guys next time - hopefully in 2-3 weeks. Had a great time, thanks!

I know, its 1 Henry lighter than our G's .

Im curious to see if he outperformed you in the 60ft, or if he won you the whole way.

Too bad I didnt go against you, because my 15.3 would have owned you all day God I need practice, really bad

my best 60ft for the day/night was a 2.289 doing 15.541 with me missing 2nd gear..

out of the 3 runs I raced him, the 1st race was a very close one, but once again I had to miss a shift, this time it was 4th gear and I ended up doing a 15.113 @ 84.105MPH and he did 14.980 @ 94.344MPH. I would of won time wise, but since he had a better reaction time, he would of gotten me at the finish line.

His days are numbered lol

Just make sure to only use this at LACR. I tried doing the same at Cal Speedway, but forget how much closer to sea level it is. I ended up doing 7500 before backing off the gas (before the end line of the track).

FYI:

Quote: The tachs in the revup g's are a little over-eager. I've used a techtom to observe the behavior. Basically the techtom displays one variable at a time, at a low resolution(like 500ms).

I learned that the tach seems to be almost dead-on in first gear. In second, it was off by maybe 100rpms. Third was off by almost 200rpms. And fourth was off almost 300rpms.

So when I hit the track, I used to shift at an indicated 7200 in 1st(I don't do that any longer due to problems with misshifts), 7300 in 2nd, and just a hair under 7400 in 3rd.
I did my research, and he's right. Also tested this out at the track, and I always get better results. Don't worry about any engine damage; I was paranoid too, but you only do engine damage by over-reving the engine (downshifting to the wrong gear over revs it). Don't worry about bouncing off the limiter too, because it only happens if you go around 7700 RPMs, which you should be no where near.
