Started off in mid 14's when it was cool (mid 70's), and ended the day with a few consistent 14.3 @ 99 runs on 2.2 60 footers (mid 90's). My best runs were at the hottest point of the day (94F). I was disappointed because, though it was my first time out with DR's, I could NOT get that thing to launch.

First few passes, there was no matter in the box. And without a burnout, those things are useless. I ran 2.4's all the way until they finally got the water going on. After they sprayed water, I did a good burnout and tried launching the same way. This time, they HOOKED, but I bogged down like crazy. So then I thought to myself its time to add more revs to the launch as they're sticking much better. But I overspun those passes.

So, at the end of the day, I either overspun all my passes or bogged down like crazy. I wasn't able to find the sweet spot.

I was hoping to get atleast a 2.0 60 ft on the first few passes. That definately would have yielded a ~13.9

These DR's are a little more trickey than I thought.

Next time, I have a much better idea of how to launch these things. Along with the MREV2 + Tune, and much colder weather, im looking at mid 13's if I can get a great launch on these tires

PS. I'm not even thinking about 1.9's until I master these tires.

.

trapping 99 mph is very healthy, considering it was DA was 3716 feet on that day. I agree, with tune and sub 2.0 60ft time i can see u doing mid 13s and trapping ~102. One thing i have learned when launching the car, and im sure this applies with DRs too, is that u have to slip the clutch to some degree to get a smooth and consistent launches. I personally would start up with 5k rpm with drag radials and just adjust how much im going to slip the clutch run after run according to the results im getting.
BTW We are not far away from E46 M3s and stock 335s anymore. What were they doing that day?

no no. I was not sleepy at all until I sat in the chair around 1pm and took a 30 minute nap Either way, this was a much better event. Got up at 6 and was on my way around 6:40. Got to the track around 7:30 and with minimal traffic, not too bad. I was 4th in line!!!!!!! lol

By the way my best run was the very first one @ 13.751 @ 100.91mph. In the middle of the day I was hitting 102mph.

The IS-F hit a 12.9 on his first run and after that he was hitting 13.2's. One of the 335i (Coupe) had a piggyback and the last time I talked to him he said he hit a 13.0 Crazy!!

Anywho, the event was fun and I honestly wont be making anymore visits to CS on Saturdays! Private events for me from now on. You guys gotta join us the next time around!

^nice.. it sounds like palmdale type of track without the "****ty" conditions in private events. I will be looking forward to participate in the next one.

sounds good man. Looks like we can maybe have a catering event as well if we get enough members to go as well.

yup. It still hasn't been paid as of yet though since there isn't a record of the VIN at the DMV just yet. Once that's done (matter of days), my insurance co. will be paying off approximately $54k then GAP kicks in which should be less than 2-3 grand.

By the way, my ins. co. called last week and they got the police report; it states I'm not at fault.

By the way, I can't get another car loan. I tried at Infiniti with Mike about 2 days after I got my wifes' EX. I got rejected (not entirely), since I have too many car loans

I'll try again in December once the 335i (totalled) and G35 (lease) are gone by then.
