I'd say no more than 3/4" thick since you need to be able to drive over it.

You can go much thicker if you planning to lift the sides first and then insert the boards under the tires. More work, but give you much more clearance.
Don't forget to take out the boards before you drive off.

OR you can take the thicker boards to a wood shop and pay couple bucks to have them trim it to a slope.
