I'm thinking we should change the format of the meet. Maybe have it only when there seems to be enough interest. For example, someone brings up a specific Thursday and see if there is any interest on that date. The bi-weekly just isn't working out.

What do you guys think?

 

i say we should just pick a different spot every time, but not a random parking lot maybe a place to actually do something.. like a pool hall or w.e.

 

Well yeah that would be part of it too; not necessarily a location change, but just change it up a bit from time to time. But how many times and the days we meet I think are more important. Just look at the last few months... meet is dead as of late.

 

yah pretty much cus no one else would show up just the OG's and thats it :-(

 

although I understand the mentality of making the meet more accessible to people in 323 213, etc. none of those people seem to show up. since the OGs and the other 818 peeps are the only ones that do come out, why not make the meet more accessible to ourselves and move it closer to 818, cuz clearly other people aren't being receptive to the geographic courtesy being extended to everyone by having it downtown. By having it so far it has not only dwindled in the interest of the non-818ers but its also scared off the valley peeps who otherwise would come but now have the excuse that it's "too far" for them (i obviously don't agree cuz I try and come out to these). and most times the aftermath leads to somewhere we end up back in the 818 anyway. I agree with Henry, make it announced by popular interest and set a date based on that, not just bi-monthly where nobody shows and perhaps back in 818 to regain some of the more loyal peeps attention, just a thought and always open to all other ideas

You bring up some good points in regards to the location. The only reason we moved to that location was to make it more accessible to more people and because we had a few issues in Burbank. The La Crescenta location was only temporary and not really a good location since its not as central as Burbank or the current spot.

My vote goes to making the meet only upon request to a specific date (preferably Thursdays, but open to discussion). I have no problem with the current location but it can also be changed upon demand. Finding a good spot in the Valley is a little harder though.

The two-a-month just isn't working out anymore.
